Karen is our manager for GEAT (Goods, Equipment, and Assistive Technology) and has been with us for three years, working hard to ensure that clients across the country receive the assistive technology that they need.
What does your role involve?
Ensuring our contracts for geat2GO, HCP Emergency Funding and GEAT are delivered according to the DoHAC requirements, providing a quality service to our clients and continually improving our service delivery.
What do you like most about your role and working at Indigo?
It's fabulous that I work with amazing staff from all departments. We help clients right across Australia to make their day-to-day lives easier, what could be better than that? And I do enjoy the rapidly changing environment and stakeholder requirements (mostly).
Tell us about the most interesting project you have worked on during your career.
Hmmm, that's a tough one. It was probably an old IT mining project where we improved the comms to mine supervisors to text, which let them know when a loading ship was going 'off-grade''. It would send them a text telling them instantly which element was off-grade according to the client contract and which sample it was. At the time (yes I am that old), this was light years ahead of anything else available.
Describe a memorable moment arising from your role.
Staying back at work till midnight to sort out an issue in production with geat2GO. Not sure I helped much with the actual issue, but did ensure we had pizza and motivational support!
Of the four Indigo values (integrity, passion, creativity, together), which one do you express the most strongly during your workday and why?
I think all are needed. But probably 'together'. This was especially during the early days of geat2GO when we were surprised by the higher than anticipated volume and we worked with multiple teams to rapidly upscale and provide a better client service.
